Marine systems, inspection and offtake
Asset valuation, condition and pre-purchase inspection
What a unit is worth depends on what it will still be earning in five years. That is a marine question before it is a financial one, and it is answered on board, not from a desk. We value, inspect and assess floating units and offshore vessels for owners, buyers, lessors and their lenders.
What we deliver
Pre-purchase and condition inspection
Inspection on board before a sale, purchase or charter: hull and structure, marine systems, station-keeping, power and the production or offtake equipment, with the records read and the crew spoken to. What is sound, what is deferred, and what has to be spent before the next class cycle.
Valuation and market view
A valuation on a stated basis, with the evidence behind it: the asset set against comparable units, its current and likely employment, the contract it holds and the realistic field of charterers or buyers once that contract ends.
Refinancing and transaction support
Assessment prepared for owners, lessors and their lenders in support of refinancing, sale and purchase, or lender due diligence, in a form a credit committee can use.
Independent position
Vardline holds no ownership interest in yards, contractors or vessel owners, takes no commissions, and holds no interest in the transaction being financed.
When to involve us
Before a refinancing or a facility review, ahead of a sale or purchase, when a charter is approaching its end, or when a lender wants an independent technical view of security it already holds.
Typical engagement: a single asset assessed on board and reported, or a fleet reviewed to a common basis.
Valuations are given on a stated basis and with the evidence they rest on. Where a lender or a court requires a valuation from an accredited valuer, we say so and work alongside the appointed valuer.
Contact
If you have a unit in build, on tow or about to connect, we would like to hear about it.
A partner will reply, usually within one working day.
