Services

What we do

Multiple service lines covering the life of a floating unit: construction, delivery, installation and operation. Each is led by a partner who has done the work at sea or in the yard, not only reviewed it from an office.

01

Pre-installation, tow, hook-up and connection assurance

For owners, operators and lessors of FPSO, FSO, FLNG and FSRU units.

Independent review of the installation plan, tow arrangements, mooring hook-up and riser connection sequence. On-site marine representation from sail-away to hand-over. We check what will be done against what the design assumed, and we stay until the unit is connected.

02

Owner’s site team and building supervision

For owners and lessors with units under construction or conversion.

Marine and production specialists embedded in the yard for the duration of the build. We witness, inspect and report to the owner. We hold the yard to the intent of the specification, not only its letter, and we carry the knowledge of the build into commissioning and start-up.

03

Marine project management and marine operations assurance

For operators, installation contractors and project teams.

Management of the marine scope of a project: vessel selection, procedures, HAZID and HAZOP, weather criteria, interface control and marine warranty liaison. On the day, a senior marine representative on the bridge or in the control room with authority to stop the job.

04

Dynamic positioning: FMEA, trials, capability and audits

For vessel owners, operators and charterers of DP vessels.

DP FMEA and proving trials for newbuilds and after major modification. Annual DP trials. Capability analysis and footprint plots. DP audits and operational assessments against IMO, IMCA and class requirements. We write the test programmes, witness the trials and read the alarm logs.

05

Vessel condition and suitability surveys

For shipowners, charterers and financiers.

Pre-charter and on-hire surveys, condition surveys for sale and purchase, and suitability assessments for a specific scope of work. We look at the hull, machinery, DP system, deck equipment and the crew’s familiarity with all of them, and we report plainly.

06

Marine engineering and analysis

For owners, operators, contractors and insurers.

Capability comparisons between candidate vessels. Mooring and station-keeping calculations for tow, temporary mooring and installation. Marine risk assessment and management for individual operations or whole campaigns. Written to be read by the people who will use it, not only by the people who commissioned it.

07

Equipment FAT / CAT & vendor surveillance

For equipment vendors, EPC contractors and yards sourcing marine equipment.

Witnessing, procedure review and vendor surveillance for marine equipment at the supplier’s works, before it reaches the yard. We catch build and test issues while they are still cheap to fix.

Details
08

Topsides & production systems readiness

For owners and EPC contractors delivering topsides and production systems.

Commissioning readiness, FAT and SIT oversight, and owner’s engineering support for production systems from FEED through first gas.

09

Offshore wind: marine warranty, walk-to-work and floating units

For offshore wind developers, vessel owners and installation contractors.

Marine warranty surveying for installation campaigns, tow and hook-up assurance for floating wind, walk-to-work gangway FMEA and operations manuals, and DP trials and suitability surveys for the vessels that serve the field.
