Installation and marine operations
Client representatives and secondments
A client representative is the owner’s eyes and authority where the work is being done. We provide senior marine and production people as client representatives in the yard, on the vessel and offshore, and second partners and associates into the client’s project team for the phases that need them. Each is named to the client before mobilisation and accountable for what they report.
What we deliver
Shipyard representation
Owner’s representative at the yard during construction, conversion or repair: witnessing, progress and quality reporting, interface with the yard and class, and carry-over control to sail-away.
Onboard marine representation
A senior mariner on board the unit or the installation vessel through tow, hook-up and connection, with a clear brief and the owner’s authority to act in real time.
Client vessel representatives
Vessel lead or client vessel representative on the operator’s vessel management team: vessel vetting and acceptance, day-to-day marine oversight of the contracted fleet, and the interface between the operator and the vessel owners.
Secondments
Partners and associates seconded into the client’s project or operations team for a defined phase, from concept select through commissioning, working to the client’s procedures with Vardline’s independence intact.
When to involve us
When a scope is being written and the owner wants someone of their own on site rather than a contractor’s report. Representatives are most useful from the start of the phase they cover; we are also mobilised at short notice when a project team needs cover.
Typical engagement: a named representative for the duration of the phase, on the client’s rotation, with partner backup ashore.
Contact
If you have a unit in build, on tow or about to connect, we would like to hear about it.
A partner will reply, usually within one working day.
