Equipment FAT / CAT & vendor surveillance
Marine equipment is easiest to fix at the supplier’s works, before it is bolted into a hull. We witness factory acceptance and combined acceptance testing, and provide vendor surveillance for equipment destined for FPSO, FSO, FLNG and FSRU units.
What we deliver
FAT and CAT witnessing
Witnessing of factory acceptance and combined acceptance tests for marine and production equipment against the approved test procedure and the purchase specification.
Procedure review
Review of vendor test procedures before the test date, so problems are found on paper rather than on the test floor.
Vendor surveillance
Ongoing surveillance of vendor build quality, schedule and quality records during manufacture, with reporting to the owner or EPC contractor.
Non-conformance close-out
Tracking and technical review of non-conformances raised during build and test, so what reaches the yard is what was ordered.
When to involve us
As soon as long-lead equipment is ordered, so surveillance can start at kick-off rather than at the FAT itself. For critical items — turrets, swivels, DP thrusters, cranes — we recommend surveillance from early manufacture.
Typical engagement: periodic surveillance visits through manufacture, with dedicated attendance for FAT and CAT.
Contact
If you have a unit in build, on tow or about to connect, we would like to hear about it.
