Marine engineering and analysis

Calculations and comparisons that support a decision: which vessel, which mooring, which weather window, which risk to accept. Written to be used by the people doing the work.

What we deliver

Capability comparisons

Side-by-side comparison of candidate vessels or spreads for a defined operation: DP capability, bollard pull, deck space, crane reach, endurance and cost.

Mooring and station-keeping calculations

Analysis of tow, temporary and installation mooring arrangements. Line loads, excursions and holding capacity for the design environment and the operational limits.

Risk management and mitigation

Risk assessment, mitigation and management across marine operations and the wider project — not limited to the marine scope. Identification, evaluation and practical mitigation for individual operations or whole campaigns, recorded in a form the project can maintain.

Independent review

Third-party review of contractor analysis and procedures where the owner wants a second opinion before approval.

When to involve us

Whenever a marine decision needs a number behind it. We are often engaged alongside our other services, but the analysis work stands on its own for clients who have the marine team and need the calculation.

Typical engagement: a defined study with a written report, usually within two to four weeks.
